In terms of the rules, regulations, and policies that will have a direct impact on the future of Houston, the good, the bad and the ugly are all up for grabs every election cycle as candidates vie for the support of the public.

That’s why Houstonians for Responsible Growth is now working to strengthen our Political Action Committee. We must raise the dollars needed to strongly support the candidates who embrace market driven growth policies that have made Houston so successful.

In politics, money means the ability to buy television and radio advertising, send direct mail pieces explaining your philosophy, conduct an internet campaign, and hire an effective campaigns staff. It often means the difference between winning and losing the election.

A strong HRG PAC means that the merits of good ideas are backed up with financial support for good candidates—candidates who believe in consumer driven growth for the city of Houston. At the very moment when international experts are hailing Houston as the major city that “got it right” with our housing and growth policies, voices have emerged in local races who favor heavy handed regulation, expensive distortions of the market and barriers to development and redevelopment within the city.

Help us help good men and women win local races by generously supporting the HRG PAC. Our board of directors, membership and small but effective staff have shared international research, held community forums, testified and worked on development committees at City Hall that focus on the benefits to our community of growth.
